Yes it was 6 years ago (he’s just turned 6) but the photos of me now vs then - I look so haggard now. So much older, washed out, not as happy and bright. Big bags under my eyes.

He's suspected ADHD/ASD and is very full on. We have very little in the way of support and get a date night away from him once or twice a year if we’re lucky.

I just can’t believe how much I’ve aged in 6 years.

Sorry things are difficult. Do you want to make some changes or are you more expressing how you feel?

CarlaH · 02/11/2024 15:28

I've noticed when watching TV that a lot of people have bags under their eyes now.

Maybe I have only just started seeing it and there have always been loads of baggy eyed folk.

@AnneLovesGilbert
Changes would be good but not sure how. I’m only 35, but I feel much older.

I know the feeling about looking old before your time!

Make small changes, make sure you're drinking enough water and eat healthy, maybe start taking some supplements and collagen.

And a decent concealer!

Are you worried about how you look and want to change that, or is your DS making you feel haggard and tired? My son was ADHD, and the stress was unreal. In those days, there was zero support. (I wasn't in the UK). So you just felt like a failure as a parent. I think if you can somehow build a workable routine that helps you both (and it will also help your child) to feel better. You know, regular nutritious meals, bed early, walking, but sticking to a routine. You will feel and look so much better. Easier said than done, but the only way to start is to start.

I hear you. I have 2 DC with SEN and the youngest had major issues with sleep. It's definitely aged me. I prioritise skincare, make up and dressing well because it makes me feel better mentally.

I've found that a Vit C serum and a really good illuminating primer make me look a lot less tired and washed out.

Water. That's my advice. Drink at least 2lts a day.
