My DD had a UTI a few weeks ago, she was given antibiotics and was on the mend. She then was a bit unwell again so the GP suggested we do another urine sample to see if she needs more antibiotics.
After bringing the sample pot home I was unwell for days with a chest infection and it's now been 2-ish weeks and I've only just been able to return the urine sample.
Will it damage her kidneys because she's potentially had to wait 2+ weeks for the urine sample to be sent off? I keep reading about untreated UTI's and it's worrying me. I just became so unwell with the chest infection myself that I didn't get around to doing her sample - usually I don't leave it this late.
Will she be okay? She's been on and off unwell for the past 8 weeks but she has also started nursery in September so not sure if it's linked.
