AIBU to be panicked about bleach on nose

Cleaning the bathroom and had gloves on. Got an itchy nose and without thinking I swiped at my nose getting thick bleach on it. I instantly didnt breathe in, wiped off the bleach and rinsed it. I could smell the bleach a bit but it didn't burn my skin or anything. I have terrible anxiety and have this horrible feeling that ita now up the back of my nose. Should I be worried?

Well my nose hasn't fallen off yet, so I'm
pretty sure you'll be just fine.😊

I swallowed a mouthful of bleach as a child.

You have nothing to worry about.

Thank you, my anxiety has been a lot more heightened than usual as it's been a very difficult time recently and my thoughts do get away from me a bit. Appreciate the kindness.

Reminds me of the time I rubbed my hayfevery eyes with chilli on my hands ... you will be fine, but you have sympathy...!

I think I’ve done this quite a few times!

I'm sorry, but I think you need some mental health help if such a small thing causes you anxiety.

I do. Just a particularly bad day today.

How does the skin feel now?

Createausername1970 · 26/10/2024 16:04

You will be fine. I would have been more concerned about the proximity to my eyes.

I give the washing up bowl and sink a bleaching a few times a week and often just swoosh it round with a sponge without gloves on. My hand hasn't dropped off, so I have high hopes for your nose.

I got bleach on my nose as a child in a similar way and in the morning I just had blisters. Mum took me to the hospital and they popped them and dressed them and that was the end of it.
