“I have to park somewhere”

I’ve come home to find a van parked across my driveway.

I noticed builders at the end of the road and asked them if it was their van, got a very “oh yeah” couldn’t have cared less response.

When he walked by I said don’t park in front of my drive again and his response - well I’ve got to park somewhere.

Then inconvenience the people you are working for. I’m 4 or 5 houses down from where they are working.

I would go with "not my problem"

My husband is a tradie and owns a large van. I GET that it's difficult and I have gone out of my house and offered parking over my driveway or even my actual driveway as a parking space for tradies who are there for my neighbours. They are always grateful.

But I do not take kindly to the ones that help themselves and think that because they have a large van they can park illegally and inconvenience people around them.

I’ve started to park my car across my own drive as the neighbours’ builders have been blocking it for months on end (despite my repeated requests not to!). Not my problem if they can’t find somewhere to park, it’s not unreasonable to need to be able to get my car out of my own drive. Especially bothers me when they do it first thing in the morning - I (like most people!) need to get to work, not go hunting a man down to move his bloody van!!

I had this with a building site recently.
I just parked in front of the drive of the house they were working on.
you’ve got to park somewhere.

Say how would you like it if I blocked your drive.
Shame people can't just say sorry.
