To actually want to go on holiday alone?

I'm a youngish widow with a decent income, adult DC, so no ties.

I've had trips with DC and with various groups of friends, often around a shared hobby, usually just a few days.

I've also done solo hiking trips and joined small guided groups overseas.

I love my friends and really enjoy our short breaks, but I don't think I'd want a fortnight away with them. The solo trips are by far my favourites.

When I was telling someone about my latest plans, he asked who I was going with. I said just me and he was all "aww couldn't you find anyone to go with?". I didn't try, I live in fear of someone doing me a favour by saying they'll join me 😆

Married with two teen kids. It is my dream to holiday alone!! Pass no remarks on those comments. I love my family and have great friends but it would be lovely to have a trip on my own. I personally wouldn’t go on holidays for any more than 3 nights with friends.
