Please Help - Has anyone else's DC (who goes to nursery) been vomiting?

Hi,

My DC (10m) recently started nursery in September.

Just over a week ago, she had a few episodes of vomiting (lasted around 5ish days).

The link to my previous post for some background information:

Please help - why is my baby throwing up every night since Monday? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/5186063-please-help-why-is-my-baby-throwing-up-every-night-since-monday

She fell on the centile for her weight and as she'd been poorly for a while prior the doctor recommended another weigh in this week as well as a follow-up tomorrow.

After a good few days of not vomiting (since last Thursday) she went to nursery Monday and Tuesday this week and has been sick again today.

Tried to offer her some lunch - she's doing a gagging face.

Is this just a bug or is to something more sinister? I've got a GP appointment booked in for tomorrow but I'm really worried that she's been vomiting on and off for 8+ days.

Anyone else?

Thanks

Sorry got the dates mixed up. She's was sick from 07/10/24 on and off till 17/10. She was then fine until today.

Took her to A&E 13/10 and they said she has a UTI and that can cause these symptoms. She had antibiotics and was just sick the once after taking AB and was on the mend until today.

You just need to take her to the GP. Perhaps the course of antibiotics wasn't long enough. Perhaps she needs more tests. Perhaps she's developed a food intolerance. Perhaps it's a long standing bug. GP will help you figure it out.

It could be the antibiotics making her unwell too. Hope you get her sorted with the GP. Ring 111 if you need to.

@BabyCloud she was on a 3 day course of antibiotics and hasn't been on them for around a week now. So not sure if that's the reason but thank you. X

@HesusCuckingFrist yes, the GP mentioned referring her to a paediatrician if she's not properly getting better when we spoke last week. She's been fine since then but just today again, she was sick...

I've got the appointment booked in for tomorrow but I just feel so anxious 😢

3 days is probably not long enough. Speak to the gp about that.

Is she eating or drinking anything different at nursery?

YouveGotAFastCar · 23/10/2024 16:03

Have you looked at her food diary from nursery? Are they giving her anything you don't usually have, or she hasn't had before?

Do they have access to anything you wouldn't usually; like free access to sand that she might be eating? Although I'd presume that'd cause bad nappies rather than vomiting... or home-made playdough, or anything?

Would it be an option to keep her off next week and see if she's still sick?
