To offer MIL a used coat

I have a nice short trench coat (used but in good condition - I used to wear it a few years ago) that is sadly too small for me. I think it would fit my MIL perfectly.
AIBU to offer it to her? At least to try it on and see if she likes it. Or could this offend her that I'm offering her my old used item.

If you tell her it's too small for you I don't see why she'd be offended. I certainly would not be.

@Nerd3 , just make sure to tell her that you won’t be at all offended if she doesn’t want it. You sound like a lovely daughter in law. 😊

Well it's a trick question really as only you know your Mil. Some might be offended, some people may not. I used to give and receive second hand clothes from family members, it really wasn't a problem.

I wouldn't be offended. I'd be pleased you thought of me.
