To spend all day lying on the sofa while DH does everything tomorrow?

I might make lunch but that's it I'm on strike. Why does he think it's acceptable to just loll about while I rush around after DC all day.

Tell him and the kids you're doing it.

I was just going to do it. He tells me to stop complaining if I say anything so I'll just get to the sofa before him. Need to hold my nerve and not give in when the mummmmmyyyy occurs

You won't get any peace so it'll be a waste of time. You'd be better to go out for the day - coffee, cinema, lunch, shopping. Have some proper time to yourself.

Commonsense22 · 19/10/2024 19:41

Yes, get up at 8 and tell him you're heading out.

WeeOrcadian · 19/10/2024 19:43

Get yourself out of the house instead

You can't be guilt tripped if you're not there

SweetSakura · 19/10/2024 19:45

Why not plan out what needs to be done at the start of each weekend?

We only have my kids this weekend and DH (their step dad) has still done half the taxiing and cooking etc so I could rest too

Clearinguptheclutter · 19/10/2024 19:47

Leave the house instead

BCBird · 19/10/2024 19:47

Get up. Leave a note and go out.

MiddleParking · 19/10/2024 19:50

I don’t think leaving the house makes the same point personally. Also means you don’t get the rest he got.

Yeah. I don't want to go out. I can just lie there and scroll on my phone and snooze and maybe have a packet of crisps and leave the rubbish on the floor for him to pick up.

Why? Does he not know what needs doing?

Problem is he’ll take the day off too and nothing will get done

Well it's not working at present is it so why not sit down and talk it out?

I frequently do this. It doesn't work.

Because there's no room to sit on the sofa while he's slobbing on it

I would sit ON him. Encourage the kids to aswell.
Lazy fucker.
Definitely wouldn't be doing anything advantageous for him, like his washing, cooking etc. Fuck that noise!
When he behaves like an adult and parent you will treat him like one.

Well then it's all just empty threats. You'll have a row by 10am and it'll be a shit atmosphere for everyone all day. Just go out or have an adult conversation.

Was going to say this. Go out, otherwise best case you’ll get moaning and worst case you’ll get roped in.
