Untreated sewage has been dumped in Lake Windermere for the past three years.

Why isn't anything being done about untreated sewage being dumped in our waterways? Why has the UK turned into the playground of businessess who seem to be completely unregulated?

Yanbu. It's disgusting. Our seas, rivers and lakes are so horribly polluted. Yet still people swim in them

Ridiculousradish · 17/10/2024 16:27

Absolutely horrendous.
I live by the coast and there is always sewage pumped into our seas. It's fucking grim. Isn't it because of Brexit? Labour need to sort it out.

BlastedPimples · 17/10/2024 16:30

Nobody will do anything about it at all.

It's standard in the U.K.

The EA have received stronger powers recently and their are multiple court cases in progress.

But you fine the company then they'll pass the cost on to their customers and it's not like we can opt out of paying for water. Hopefully prosecuting CEOs directly might have a bigger impact.

I think this is devastating. Unlike the sea, untreated sewage will sit and stagnate destroying the lake and the wildlife. This is our heritage and it's literally become an open sewer.

Imprison the CEOs, it will stop tomorrow.
