House on busy road beside offices?

Hi,

I am looking to buy a new house. There are a few options about but there is one that is a great price, location and features - however it is right on a very busy road and is attached to an office block and then on the other side there is a large detached house that is an office block, both are posh financial businesses.

I am a little concerned about the offices, on the one hand there will be no one there at night or weekends but on the other it weirds me out that people will be working there and therefore work noise, rather than living noise.

Being on a busy road bothers me too but it is a great location and is set back from the road a little.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I wouldn't want to live on a busy road between 2 businesses. And everyone else will have their own opinions but for houses each person has a unique view so you'd be best to just go along with your own thoughts. Do you have a link to the property? It's hard to know my true view without seeing it.

Go with your gut. You've rather answered this for yourself.

It can be difficult getting a mortgage with residential properties connected to commercial property. Possibly reflected in the "great price"

@Seashellssanctuary My DS has just had a mortgage declined on a property which is attached to a commercial property on one side. However, his mortgage advisor quickly and easily found him another mortgage offer from a mainstream lender.

I'm not sure what 'work noise' be, surely less noisy then house or car noise. And when you are at work so doesn't matter?

Beautiful house but it does sort of look like a house that should have been turned into a dentists by now. Very commercial setting. I wouldn't go for it personally.

It would be an instant no for me x

The other point to note is that if you're surrounded by commercial premises and it gets sold and they want to turn it into something else commercial this is an easy hurdle to cross with planning so it could mean soon you're next door to a restaurant or something noisy. I wouldn't risk it.

I would choose to live here - I would rather live next door to offices than homes.

Live next door to homes and you have to put up with weekend, evening noise, bonfires, barbqeues music

Live next door to financial businesses its all day time very low level noise and comings and goings

Main road no problem - the only downside is traffic fumes, however homes on main roads are much less likely to get broken in to. - I know this as a police officer told me this i live on a main road
