Unannounced ofsted visit

I work in a nursery and an ofsted officer came to visit unannounced them when an inspection wasn’t due. Would this be the result of a complaint about the nursery?he was asking us all questions. What could happen as a result of this visit ?

I've only ever seen emergency Ofsted due to safeguarding concerns. It must have been something serious to trigger, but safeguarding allegations are sometimes unfounded or disproved as a result of the visit. Outcome is usually an update report without mention of the safeguarding concerns but it depends what they find when they're there.
