Is there a very faint line in this test

Hi

I'm 4 days late on my period. I bought a very cheap test as I didn't think there was any possibility.

I thought I saw a faint pink line but my partner disagreed so I thought he was right and got on with the rest of my night.

Went in the bathroom to clean teeth and I can definitely see a very very faint pink line. Everyone is asleep so I can't ask.

Can you help?

I've breast tenderness anyway as should be on my period now.

Can you post better pictures? Can’t really see properly

horseHorseHorse · 15/10/2024 23:54

The pics aren't clear enough to tell, sorry!

Dotto · 15/10/2024 23:55

You need to disregard the result outside of the test window as the colour can run. If you are certain you are 4 days late and ovulate regularly you'd probably have a clearer line. Sore boobs are usually PMT.

Moonflower6 · 15/10/2024 23:55

I know sorry. Its the best I can do. My phone is awful.

It's hard to see, it does look a little like a line but I think you aren't meant to look at them after 10 minutes because it can be evaporation line or something , I'd get a second test.

Pandasnacks · 15/10/2024 23:56

Looks negative from the pics provided. And reading the test now is inaccurate. Plus 4 days after a missed period you would expect a clear time. Sorry OP

Moonflower6 · 15/10/2024 23:58

No that's fine. Thank you guys. We've literally only just started properly 2 weeks ago. That's why bought cheap one as thought no chance.

I'm OK with not being pregnant as gives me time to get money in the bank.

The cheap ones are just as good if not more accurate sooner than the expensive ones. I bought a bulk of them off ebay.

Oh thanks for the tip. Will have a look. I bought cheap ovulation sticks but not had chance to use them yet, as not come on period yet. I'm 40 so I'm panicking left it too late for baby and hoping this lateness isn't start of menopause. Highly strung today.

Partner... Not enough money in bank...

Hope you share assets (like on title deeds of home together) and have agreed how you will equally share your family money... Sorry to nag..

Not nagging. I appreciate it.

But yes we have and we jointly own our home. We've been together a long time. He earns double what I earn and he's very generous towards our home and joint account.

But I need my own money to pay my own bills when/if time comes. That's what I meant xx

Ah good-oh 😊

They look negative to me but as others have said it's really early for a strong line and you are much more likely to get a false negative. Breast tenderness was the first sign I was pregnant with both of my pregnancies. If it were me I would wait a couple of weeks and then test again, if you are pregnant it's going to show up much better then. Wishing you both all the best 😀

Aw thanks so much. Lovely words.

My auntie has woken up now and agreed no line.

Plus I did the other one this morning and no lines at all not even a faint one so not pregnant. Will retest I'm few weeks if still no sign.

I definitely can understand that longing and the worry in the back of your mind that it might not ever happen for you. It's easy to say try not to worry but it's human nature. The only thing I can say is that if has any influence on the cosmos, I'm hoping that one day soon you'll be seeing two lines soon 🤞🙏🎉

Didimum · 16/10/2024 08:39

Tracking ovulation will give you a better idea of how ‘late’ you are, and help you pinpoint conception.

LauritaEvita · 16/10/2024 10:06

There was a campaign years ago called something like ‘wait a week’ to test for preg. Basically wait until your period is a week late before testing. I think this is really sensible and have tried to stick to this. Saves a lot of agonising. I’ve had friends buying job lot of hundreds of tests online and torturing themselves testing and staring at test strips. If you’re pregnant, you’ll soon know about it and the test line will be clear as anything.
Best of luck anyway! I know plenty of women who’ve had their first baby in their early 40’s so I hope you’re one of them!

Well my sis in law said she could see a line too so I went to sainsburys to get clear blue one. Negative. Then about an hour later I came on my period.

I'm fine with it as I've previously said, need to get money in the bank and we've got a big hol coming up which would I would have cancelled. We've got loads planned an most of it wouldn't be able to do if pregnant.

Thank you for your replies and really appreciate it xxxx
