To want to book a hotel

Off to a wedding baby will be 3 months wedding is 30-40 minutes away and then lunch the day after. I have found a cheap hotel room next to the venue and think it would be way easier to stay over so no drive back with baby after a long day. We are then in the location for lunch the next day lunch is optional and we have just been asked if we would like to come. Husband has said no point in getting a hotel he will just drive back. I then mentioned having to go back the next day for lunch but he said let’s just not go. It’s his family not mine.

Maybe he can’t be bothered with the packing?
I would only stay over if I were having a drink and unable to drive. Otherwise a 30 min drive is nothing. My commute is longer than that !

When is it?

I'd stay over but I like to make an occasion of anything!

30-40 minutes drive is nothing, I’d definitely go home and easy to go back the next day too if you want to, if you don’t then that’s something else entirely and since it’s your DH’s family I’d let him make that call, but a hotel room when you’re that close seems pointless.

30-mins is nothing, I have to drive that to the supermarket! Personally I would prefer going home with a young baby v staying in a cheap hotel anyway when it's such a short drive. It wouldn't occur to me to stay overnight for something half an hour away.
