Hi everyone, I'm about to sell at my first mum to mum sale, and not sure what pricing to put.

I've got a moses basket, without the mattress.
Next to me
2 bouncers, one expensive the other one isn't
Baby sun tent
Clothing? Dresses, jumpers, tops, vest? Trousers?

Or is it better to give the clothes away to charity or someone I know rather than trying to sell?

I just gave it all to a baby bank

Use one-third of new price as a rule of thumb.

Try to sell your big items first and make these your focal point.

Don’t take too much as you will just exhaust yourself during setup and people can’t see what’s what if there’s too much on your stall. Many a time I have seen an annoyed-looking dad hauling a load of boxes back into a people carrier after the sale.

I don’t take too much and often end up selling quite a lot of what I take - empty space on my table - rather than taking a lot home again.

Clothing no more than £1 for good quality branded items. Things like vests, pin the same size vests together and do as 3 for £1, or 5 for £1.

If someone buys a few items of clothing I generally also give them something in the same size for free.

The most important thing is to actively sell your items by talking to people about what they want, rather than sitting slumped behind your table looking at your phone because you are so exhausted from hauling a whole van load of stuff out of your house and into a community centre at 8.30 am!

Yes, baby banks are good although my local one is very specific about what it wants at any one point in time, so you can’t just turn up with a car load of stuff and assume that it will take it all. But of course they will differ from place to place.
