We are having our house bathroom renovated this week, so staying with relatives 20 minutes away. Me and DH went to check in the progress this afternoon. I am worried we left the newly-rewired bathroom light on and that it might not have been safe to do that if they hadn’t fully finished the electrical works on the bathroom yet, plus leaving the light on all night would be expensive. I want to go back and check it’s off but also know in doing so would be validating the worry, and we most probably turned the light off though neither of us can fully remember.

Stupid to even entertain this as a worry, isn’t it? I am very heavily pregnant and anxious at the moment about the house being perfect and do tend to think the worst hence my worries of the house burning down while we’re away… I have had anxiety previously and usually it doesn’t bother me but this one particular thing is sitting with me.

I'd go and check if it's not too far away. Likelihood of anything happening are slim but if you're not going to settle, you're not going to settle!

You will kick yourself if you are right and anything happens as you will probably invalidate any insurance.
I have similar tendencies to you and I know if I didn’t check I would wake up at 3am in a cold sweat wanting to check it!
