Dear all.. do you have an insurance policy with Esure? A work colleague recently applied for a mortgage with hubby only to be refused. Despite paying all her accounts on time incl utilities and credit card of which she has no more than 2k on a 15k facility.
When she did some digging she found that Esure had marked her 3 months down, her monthly premium was no more than £40. However payments had been made on time every month since she had taken the policy out over 3 years ago.
The months that she was marked down were MARCH, APRIL and MAY of this year. PLEASE CHECK!!! this is something that you will not be aware of until you apply for a mortgage or credit.
Esure stuck negligible compo in her account without any negotiation or dialogue. Esure essentially stuck 2 fingers up to her and said if she didn't like it go the FOS. Apparently the error was all down to the computer saying no.
This seems to be the default route for corporates these days. Knowing full well that the FOS aren't fit for purpose and no one would knowingly put themselves through the trauma of dealing with them. The FOS Trust Pilot reviews would confirm same. Esure also own SHEILAS WHEELS and FIRST ALTERNATIVE ie you may also be affected if you have a policy with either/or.
There are a number of online freebie outfits where you can check your score. They do vary though as to the extent of reporting. Some will detail just a score, some will make available more relevant info such as who has recorded the data against you. X
