Quoted 250 for the labour, how does that compare with you please?
That's a days work. Not sure what a day is exactly, but that's the quote.

Depends on the job. Doesn't sound excessive to me for a self employed trades person.

Brokenm · 10/10/2024 16:46

Just paid 450 for 2 guys that were here from about 11 until 4. They did a great job and it was worth it.

DeedlessIndeed · 10/10/2024 16:56

We are paying £200 per man, per day labour costs, but it's a long project. We've paid 230-250 per day for shorter projects.

That's in Scotland- not sure if it depends on location!

DeedlessIndeed · 10/10/2024 16:56

Oh and they work 8am to 4pm

noideabutstilltrying · 10/10/2024 17:03

In East Anglia it's an average of £300 per day. More like £400 in Cambridge.

London is £400+a day.

There are not enough tradies so they can charge what they want at the moment.

Chillisintheair · 10/10/2024 17:04

What kind of labour? A labourer or a qualified trades person? I’m in NE and it sounds right for a tradie.

Planesmistakenforstars · 10/10/2024 17:05

I would charge around £250 for a day's manual labour in the South East.

girlfriend44 · 10/10/2024 17:05

Qualified.

My husband’s day rate is £250 - he is a general builder.

junecat · 10/10/2024 17:07

£200 for a decorator £250 for a joiner £250 for a plasterer round here

VeterinaryCareAssistant · 10/10/2024 17:07

My partner is a self employed mechanic and charges £50 per hour labour plus parts.

TwistedSisters · 10/10/2024 17:10

East Anglia. £250 sounds standard, probably on the cheaper side. Depends on the nature of the trade, our electrician is £44/hr + vat, we've had some guys to do garden work at £250 a day, our builder was more like £200 ish a day but that was for a long project.

TwistedSisters · 10/10/2024 17:12

I still hark back wistfully to the pre covid era when you could get a general labourer for £150/day....those days have long since gone 🙈.

WinterFaye2 · 11/10/2024 00:43

Plasterer day rate round here (“nice” area in NW) is £300. No experience of the others.
