That's it really , it comes as I've been asked about 20+ questions this morning and it's not even 8am, two sons and a DH and not one of them seem to be able to figure out anything on there own! Can't really blame the 6yr old but the other two should be able to figure shit out, like is the stuff in the dishwasher clean, or is there any bread in the cupboard! It's so draining 😩

Say what I say, which is ‘I haven’t the faintest idea, darling. I’m sure you’ll work it out.’

I suggest you have "I don't know" auto play whenever a stupid question is asked. Don't even give it the brain power to add "have you checked".

Very much the time to start "blaming" the 6 year old or they will grow up being the same.
Like the PP, my usual answer nowadays is "I don't know, love"

ETA: I long ago figured out that questions like "are the dishes in the dishwasher clean?" is in fact just a thinly veiled attempt to get you to empty the dishwasher.

I have question time outs where I set a timer on my phone for 5 mins and no one is allowed to ask me any questions. My dc think it's hilarious and it makes us laugh which generally takes a bit of the pressure off!

I remember one morning in particular when I'd been asked why lips are pink, how babies are made and why it's called Good Friday if it's the day Jesus died all before breakfast 😂

There types of questions I don't mind at all! They are fun to answer and I feel like I am doing something productive with my time teaching kinds about the world.
It's more questions that start with "where is my..." and "do we have any..." that I have no patience for.
