To claim for this?

Posting for traffic only!

Every month we have to submit our expenses claim at work as I travel to a few different sites at least a couple of days a week. Usually I get about £30/40 a month. I have somehow managed to forget to claim since July, so I have all of July, August and September to claim for. Deadline for September’s claim to be paid this month was yesterday.

Is it acceptable to claim for July-September still if I submit the claim this week? I accept it won’t be paid until November but AIBU for hoping to be able to still claim for it after leaving it so long?

Would you put the correct date on the claim? As long as you do that I can’t see the problem, surely work would query it if they have a problem. I think you would be unreasonable to put a fake date on and claim they all were Sept expenses as you could get in serious trouble and could even end up losing your job. Is there a reason you haven’t submitted these claims by the deadline? If you’ve been on leave or ill for example might mean they are more likely to allow it.

Of course it is, but our company policy is very clear; preferably done monthly, should be done within 3 months, must be done within 6 months. Over 6 months and it's not payable.

Every company will be different, email the finance dept and see what they say.

You might as well? Be honest about the dates and see what happens
