AIBU to think that my solicitor is slow?

We’re currently in process of a child arrangements order, and spoke to my solicitor last Tuesday when she said she would rewrite the draft and send it to me to approve before sending it to my ex husband. Today is Monday and I’ve heard nothing? Already paid her £1200 since August. I’ve emailed her today asking for an update on the draft.

Is this normal? Not sure if I’m being impatient or she’s just slow. She’s always been quick to respond don’t know what’s going on. I can’t relax and just want it to be done.

She could be off sick or just busy with a case in court. If your document isn't urgent in the greater scheme of things e.g. court deadlines she may be doing something else first. I understand though that it feels urgent to you and horrible when you've got to wait for something so sensitive.

I hope there's a simple explanation and it's done soon but as a solicitor once said to me "I may be your only solicitor but you're not my only client". You never know what might have blown up for another of her clients - really hope it gets sorted soon Flowers

The thing is you are just one of many many clients who cases are also active and need documents drawn up etc.

Unfortunately some of these are more pressing than others. For you this is a huge issue in your life but to her it is something on her to do list.

I do think your solicitor is slow but doubt there is anything you can do about it.
