To go to Cyprus for 24 hours

Good friend is getting married in Cyprus. For various reasons I just can’t make it work unless I fly Saturday come home Sunday. Is this ridiculous? Or just say * it and go?

Do it, why not if you can make it work!

Go for it! Assuming you can afford it and want to go etc. It’s lovely when people move heaven and earth to get to a wedding.

As long as its not a foolish amount of money.. your friend will really appreciate it. Most would just put it in the "too hard," box so they will value the effort definitely.
I once went to 3 weddings in 3 countries in 6 days! And I wore the same dress to all 3! I had a ball! Spain, Italy then Ireland!

Totally not worth it for such a short trip. You'd almost spend more time hanging around airports and flying than you would in Cyprus!

Yeah, not unreasonable at all - when my BIL was living in Rome for a while, my DH flew out and back on the same day to hang out with him.

It's a long flight - 4.5/5 hours, plus a time difference of (I think) 2 hours. Would you get there on time?
Cyprus is small but you do have to allow time to get to venue as well.
I wouldn't do it but if you can get the flights to work, then I guess why not?

Are you sure you'll get there on time? Even a 7am flight won't land until approx 2pm Cyprus time, and that's without any delays.

If it's Paphos, you've got the bus from plane to terminal, carnage through passport control if there's more than one plane landing at a time, then 30 min transfer to the hotel.

If it's Larnaca, the airport is a much nicer experience, but you're likely an hour transfer to the hotel.
