To feel totally sad

33 years of age and things haven't been right for a while. Just got a call from my doctor...

I've gone by perimenopause and am now in menopause.

I have three young babies and I didn't plan to have anymore but I also didn't forsee having my own womanhood being ripped from me. Never mind the side effects.

That must be such a shock. Take time to grieve for what is no longer.

Neveranynamesleft · 04/10/2024 20:18

I agree it is a shock to the system. It's as though something has more control of your own body than what you have.

CantBelieveNaive · 04/10/2024 20:19

Aw yes that is a shock. I thought you were going to say you had no children and thank goodness you do. Focus on them and what you have xxx

unconditionalpurelove · 04/10/2024 20:23

Oh that is young. What are your symptoms if you don't mind me asking? I'm 42 and I too haven't been right for a while. Horrible anxiety and not feeling myself.

tarheelbaby · 04/10/2024 20:30

Oh, @Sprinkly , that must be a huge surprise. I look back now on what was the start of peri but I had no idea. Take care of yourself and push your doctors to give you the best.

L00pyLou · 04/10/2024 20:32

What a shock!
Will you get help for symptoms now?

MrsTigerface · 04/10/2024 20:35

Oh, sweetie, this really must have been an awful shock. It’s a lot to come to terms with at such a young age. Thank heavens you have already completed your family but all the same, you do need ongoing advice and support, I hope you’re getting this x

Sprinkly · 05/10/2024 07:40

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm not sure how to feel but I feel like I've lost a piece of me.

I have a call with the doctor on Monday then more bloods and a follow up appointment to see where we go from here.

Hot flushes, depression, manic episodes, facial hair growth, no periods for a year then two heavy ones in a month, not feeling right, weight gain (especially around the tummy). Just a few. Hope you're ok.
