Woken up feeling awful

My cat is weeing in the living room constantly and I can't get him to stop whatever I do. My back is absolutely killing me, I feel in so much pain. The weather is awful, constantly raining. I need to ring the plumber back but feel so anxious about it. Just want to hide under the duvet today :(

You need to stop the cat weeing, it will stink! Does he have a litter tray that he can easily access?

Have you got painkillers for your back?

The weather isn't going to improve anytime soon seeing as we are heading towards winter so I think ypou will just have to put up with that one!

Why do you feel anxious about ringing the plumber? Ring him and get it over and done with, it probably won't take 2 minutes.

Awww bless.
have a cuppa.
ring the plumber
order some wee away on Amazon
go back to bed

FunkyMonks · 01/10/2024 09:57

Take your cat to vet he could have a uti if he's peeing outside his litter box cats don't normally do that unless in pain or stressed out.

Bad back painkillers a strong cup of tea or coffee sadly the weather is here now until next spring try and stick some music on you like in the background to cheer you up or other little interests to keep your mood up.

Why is the cat weeing? Is this a new thing? Have they been neutered? Is it a UTI? Do they not like going outside when it’s rainy or is their litter dirty? Jackson Galaxy does good videos on inappropriate weeing. In the meantime, clean it up with Simple Solutions from Amazon.

What’s wrong with your back? Have you seen a doctor? Do you need to see a physio? Get some pain killers for now.

I think re the plumber-you just need to pick up the phone and dial. What’s the problem-do you dislike talking on the telephone or is there an issue with his work?

Hernamewaslola22 · 01/10/2024 10:13

Tried everything to stop cat weeing. Yes I know it'll stink. It's now soaked through to underlay therefore cat keeps using that place as its habit/they can smell their scent no matter how many enzyme cleaners I use. I can't afford to replace the carpet.
Have had years of back problems, GPS not interested and chiro/osteo/physio never helps. Have a physio appointment coming up but have very little hope.
Hard to explain the plumber one, yeah I don't like talking on the phone but I just feel anxious about why he wants me to ring him. Its all illogical really.

Have taken cat to vet twice, nothing wrong. Have spent £250 on vets appointments.

Have you tried putting one of the litter trays in the spot he’s weeing on?

I just wanted to say I fully understand OP. I get those days when I wake up feeling a sense of dread about everything the day might hold in store, and almost panic about how I’ll get through it. Before I had my hips replaced (which the doctors weren’t interested in either, I had to really fight to find out what was wrong) I was in constant pain so I know what that’s like too and it massively drags you down.i also hate making phonecalls, especially if I don’t know what they’re going to be about. I haven’t got any good advice, I just wanted to let you know that I have had so many days like that so I do understand.

Got up to make a coffee wash face brush teeth but now back in bed. Would like to go back to sleep but not sure I'll be able to.

Calling the plumber is the fastest one you can fix. Give yourself a deadline of ringing while the kettle is boiling. You will feel really relieved to cross one item off the list.

Shinyandnew1 · 01/10/2024 10:32

Hernamewaslola22 · 01/10/2024 10:17

Yes, he wees next to it.

I would try a brand new litter tray and new litter and put a puppy pad around it.

Bestyearever2024 · 01/10/2024 10:33

Ask the physio to show you exercises to do to help/strengthen your back. And do them religiously. They do work

Text plumber

Put a big sheet of plastic down for the cat

I've got the opposit problem, mine wees in his tray and poos next to it! I've given up trying to stop him, we basically put a puppy pad next to his tray and he poos on that and wraps it up like a little parcel.

Hernamewaslola22 · 01/10/2024 14:35

Haven't managed to get out of bed :( feel absolutely horrendous.
