To complain about this dentist

Saw an emergency dentist about severe pain in my tooth, all round the side of my mouth, I couldn't sleep, pain killers were not helping it was horrendous. This was around 3/4 months ago. He said it was because I had a wisdom tooth coming in. I was in and out in about 30 seconds and he more as less rushed me out the door and wouldn't let me explain where the pain was coming from or even look at any of my other teeth, as I was speaking he basically interrupted me and said thanks, bye, basically. I made a further appointment and the other dentist said I had a cavity and the nerve was likely dyeing in the tooth causing the pain. My tooth actually ended up breaking and the only option now is extraction. This dentist said I could have had a root canal and the tooth could have been saved but it was too late now it broke. I feel to complain about the first dentist I saw. He gave me wrong information and rushed me away

You would be unreasonable NOT to complain! That’s terrible and I’m so sorry :(

Thank you. I’m just worried it will be his word against mine

Would be totally reasonable to complain. Unfortunately it will be one dentist's word against another. The emergency dentist did lack compassion & his communication skills were poor. (hardly had to check if the dentist was male!).
The General Dental Council has good information on how to make a complaint on their website.

I’m afraid there’s always going to be that imbalance of power when you complain, but you have physical evidence to back you up. And if nothing else maybe it will make him think twice before treating someone else so appallingly.

Of course you should complain, the Dentist was rude and unprofessional and left you in pain
However, one thing I would say is that having a tooth taken out is better than a root canal in some circumstances so while Dentist 1 didn't treat you adequately having the tooth out isn't a disaster
