To not tip in an Uber

I'm on my way home from day drinks / food with pals in an Uber.

I usually tip a couple of quid but my friend never does. Where are you on the tipping front?

I usually tip, yeah. Almost all of the drivers I've had recently have been really nice and helpful.

I only tip if they were really good or helpful. If they were pretty good with no problems I give 5 stars, if the cab stank, driving was dangerous or driver obnoxious I either don't rate it give less than 5 stars.

One of the good things about Uber when it started out, was that there was no tipping.

Clearly they've not sneaked it in. So no, I don't tip them unless they've gone out of their way to be helpful. The guy who, unasked, carried my TV from the car into the building I was talking it to, got a tip.

Yes, but they don't know whether they've been tipped until after they've rated the passenger.

That doesn’t make a difference, I use uber all the time, and my rating is 4.91. I always rate the drivers 5 star since I realised they rate me. I’m always prompt and on time.

Indeed, but they much prefer cash tips anyway

I tip in the US but I don't in the UK, checked my score the other day and it was 4.6 so I was a bit gutted by that 😂 not sure if it's my lack of UK tipping, accidental door slamming or my boring conversation 😬

Never used Uber, tip if I (very rarely) use cabs. Normally just round it up.

I always tip Uber, it is so much cheaper than getting a taxi where I live that I’m always happy to tip

Someone watches a little too much Black Mirror. I use Uber when on holiday, no fixation going on here I assure you!
