Occasionally 1 will make me re read and make me think twice before I identify it as scam. My DM freaks out, she is safe as she always checks with me and hasn't as yet been drawn in, it may happen one day though. What is sad is yet again she is now too terrified to touch her phone til i go there and block the number and delete it. She's scared she'll activate something and it'll cause her phone to be hacked. So my dm approaching 80 will ignore her phone or switch it off till i go there in 48 hrs. She has her landline with a call blocker on it, this is very effective. What can we do to stop the scam texts, HMRC, DVLA, DVSA, etc. Feel so fed up with this

Why wouldn't it be? Plenty of people get scammed, scammers are getting ever more inventive and what it leaves behind is a lot of emotional, psychological and financial damage

I wonder if there's an online course you could both do together so you feel empowered to identify scams and act appropriately?

You're never going to stop them altogether I don't suppose but there's really no need to be so terrified that you can't switch your phone on.

I think all you can do is show her how to block and delete herself. These texts can't do anything as long as she doesn't click any links.

They won't stop, it's just the way of the world now.

I think they'll stop now you've pointed it out
