To wonder if working holidays are any good?

Dd is 21 and next Sep wants to go work abroad for a year. She's been looking at some sites where you pay a fee and they sort it out. I don't know enough about it as haven't yet had chance to research properly.
Dd is ND and often acts on impulse and I think she is more vulnerable because of this but on the other hand it could be a great experience?
She currently works part time as a TA but doesn't have any further/higher education qualifications. Just very good gcses.
Has anyone any experience of doing this or similar?

I did a lot in the UK as a teenager for BTCV and loved them. I think a lot depends on which company she is looking at?

Totally depends what it is. I’d advise extreme caution with anything posing as ‘conservation’ or ‘development’ as they can be very damaging to local communities

I'm not sure of anymore details at this stage. But any further advice or info appreciated! She would love countries like Thailand or South Korea

She'd be great at an american summer camp. Check out CCUSA.

Thanks. Will get her to look at that also. Main worry is she will panic so much and realise home is better as it's her safe space despite how much she complains about it. And after wiping out her savings....

Could she look into getting a TEFL qualification, particularly as she’s currently working as a TA? That would potentially open up a few opportunities.

I would do working holiday in Australia & just travel thailand. Its far too cheap to work there, you wont get much comapred to Australia.

100% do it, I did it for 2.5 years, best thing Ive ever done been miserable since returning home

Did a BUNAC one in USA at that age - still up there with one of the next experiences of my life 30 years later. And mine was a server type one, so not flashy. I earned enough to travel across the US with another girl I met working, for a couple
of months.
I was definitely young for my age, not particularly mature, and it was the making of me.
lots if my nieces and nephews have now done similar - positive experience all round and they’ve been to Oz/NZ USA/CANADa
