Bloody Boots coupons

Just going through todays post, and found a mailer from Boots containing 9 coupons.

Bloody coupons. NINE of the feckers. With different dates and promotions on them. Some you can use twice. And some you can't. They are also colour coded red and blue, with different savings for toiletries or a secret santa present as extra layers of complexity.

Seeing as lots of people carry very little in the way of a traditional purse/wallet, isn't this a rather 1990s? And does anyone remember to use the buggers at the till as you search through them trying to find which one you can actually use? Also, whilst i vent, isn't it annoying when people rummage to find said coupons and then faff about finding one that works?

Come on, we have advantage cards and apps - surely it's time to ditch these couponing bastard things based on date, colour, gift selection, star sign and feck knows what else buggering buggers.

Or AIBU.... let me know if you're a coupon lover

The app is better . It is more personalised and you just load the offers you will use and it takes them off automatically at the till

PenguinIce · 25/09/2024 19:16

No longer get the coupons tbrough, all mine are on the Boots app.

PrincessRhaenys · 25/09/2024 19:21

I'm definitely with you!

Even in the days of carrying a big purse I would forget to used them/not be arsed/hate the faff of it all. I just think, if you wanna give me 30p off this shampoo, then just do that, don't make me jump through hoops for it!

Boots is a bit of an outlier now though. All the other bastard shops are like "do you have our app?" No. "Do you have an account with us?". No. "I'll just take your email for you e-receipt" No thank you. "Would you like a carrier bag for £4.50?" No thanks. "Press yes or no on the reader to make a charity donation while I eyeball you". 'k. "Can I ask you a favour could you go online, spend 4hrs making an account and set a 57 digit security code so you can leave a review of the service you received today". <And breathe...> JUST GIVE ME MY FUCKING SOCKS!!!!

Is your use of language to make something noone cares about seem more interesting 🤷‍♀️

Screamingabdabz · 25/09/2024 19:27

I hate bloody apps for everything though. I have no space on my phone. I have a sodding virgin app for a single balance transfer that I pay by direct debit because they no longer have a website. I feel like I was blackmailed.

The boots app was totally shit too. I deleted and just forgo coupons. Life is simpler. What I don’t know I won’t miss!

Chatbotsarerubbish · 25/09/2024 19:28

@Chateauneufdu this is such an important issue, my strong language reflects that 😁

Does anyone remember when there were special machines in Boots and you put your card in and then printed off a bunch of vouchers for current deals? So exciting at the time!

Funkyslippers · 25/09/2024 19:31

I find the Sainsburys Nectar app offers bloody confusing. Some of the offers you just use your Nectar card but some have money off & some have extra points, plus other offers are only applicable if you use the scanner thing. Why not just have Nectar prices for all the offers?

Yorkshiredolls · 25/09/2024 19:33

Yanbu op did my nut in too as if Im
going to remember to carry about and actually use them, what a waste of paper &ink

Yes! But I also remember how the machine never sodding worked... 😁

I'm also old enough to remember when you went to a shop, in the street, saw something you wanted to buy, took it to the till and paid for it with money...

"And you try to tell the young people of today that ... they won't believe you."

Precipice · 28/09/2024 15:23

YABU on the simple ground that the appification of everything is even worse!

Ivymedication · 28/09/2024 15:27

I hate the lidl app
It refuses to download for me
It will download for every other fecker I know.....so they can get the tescoesque cheap products while I'm held at ransom paying Iver the odds because their technology doesn't work on my pretty new phone.
According to them I don't live near any lidls, none in the entire country......and there is nothing that can override that.

Give me a voucher, it's a real tangible thing, it believes you that you are real.

And then there is tesco and the online club card that doesn't work as tesco is an Internet black hole.....the price gouging bastards. Can't give put a physical club card anymore either.

I may be in a mood
