Hi all,

I'm posting here for traffic and hoping someone has some answers because I feel like I'm going insane.

It started on Friday, I got a really bad headache so took some painkillers and went to bed. On Sunday I was making an easy microwave meal and put the water in the wrong side and then completely forgot about it and found it later in the microwave.

But yesterday I woke up and I was totally out of it, felt really hazy kinda like a dream like state. I was just kinda out of it but I was looking after my son and couldn't remember if I changed a nappy or fed him so I messaged my husband every time I did just to keep track. I got another headache and went to bed.

Today I still feel hazy and I put a packet of crisps in the fridge (just found them) and I keep going to the front door but can't remember why.

I'm 30 so is this just brain fog or should I contact a doctor? I'm just a bit worried as its not normal for me, I just feel like I'm not even in my body and not aware a bit - I know that sounds really weird but I don't know how to describe it.

Contact your GP. Could be anything (or nothing) and they are the best ones to out your mind at rest.

MammaKel · 24/09/2024 17:37

Thank you for the reply, I've been to the GP.

I was just wondering if anyone else had expirenced something similar and what it might be but I have a CT scan referral so hopefully we'll find out soon it's nothing.

Are you sleeping badly? I've behaved similarly with very little sleep

LostTheMarble · 24/09/2024 17:42

Was it a headache or migraine? I’ve had migraines that have left me feeling more ‘hungover’ than a night of cocktails and partying until 3am! But if it’s days later you feel like this, speak to a doctor.

MammaKel · 24/09/2024 17:48

I'm sleeping fine, I have the odd wake up with the baby but I don't feel tired as such and I've had migraines before but this felt different.

There's just weird stuff that's been happening for a few months, sorry to drip feed but I didn't think it was related but I unfriended everyone on FB and I don't remember why or I tried to go to work a day after I've handed my notice in : I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia so I just thought I was having brain fog but now I'm wondering if it's connected or if I'm just a bit dozy.

Did you have a temperature?

FunkyClunky · 24/09/2024 17:53

Have they run bloods? Low iron can wreak all kinds of havoc.

MammaKel · 24/09/2024 17:53

It was 37.8°C when the GP checked.

UTI?

MammaKel · 24/09/2024 17:57

I've had a urine sample taken and have bloods next week.

I haven't expirenced any pain whilst weeing or anything down there but I don't have an issue with my uterus and I'm waiting for surgery and I bleed a lot so maybe it is iron related.

I travel a lot for work and behave like this when suffering from fatigue/jet lag however you say that you are getting enough sleep! These symptoms are not normal and i hope you get to the bottom of them soon op.

ChangeItAgainSam · 24/09/2024 18:31

Get out checked by the gp, however that is very similar to my experience with some of my migraines. I've suffered severe migraine all of my life, some are just the head pain, some have extreme visual and balance symptoms attached and sometimes I get something very similar to you are describing.

A gp and possibility neurologist should be visited given this is unusual for you though. Hopefully it sorts itself out and it's nothing major. Are you suffering and major stress or sleep deprivation currently which might have contributed?

Absence seizure was my first thought. I could be totally wrong of course so please don’t worry too much. Just worth pondering.
