to start researching and planning for my 2025 Diary??

My 2023 diary was amazing. It was a cheapo from Muji with perfect paper, layout, and the notebook areas were square grid. I can't stand lined or blank paper. Square grid or dotted all the way for me. It was also spiral. A5. A week a page on the left, with a grid page for notes on the right, and a larger notebook section at the back, as well as a monthly planner. It became my trusty companion for the whole year and I filled its entirety. I still enjoy looking at it!!

I fully intended to get the same one for 2024 but I don't know if I missed out or they simply didn't do the spiral version, but I had to buy their bound version. Whilst inside it's pretty much the same, the fact that it's not spiral seems to have held me back, because I stopped using it after a couple of months. It just didn't feel the same.

I keep checking the Muji website for updates but so far they don't have the spiral ones.

I generally love Japanese paper, like Midori and Hobonichi, but don't necessarily want to pay their prices in case I give up on them after two months.

Are there any fellow Diary/Planner enthusiasts out there that have started their research and want to share the joy?

I get a personalised one printed: spiral bound, pages just how I like them, family birthdays added for me… this is who I’ve used the last couple of years

I’ve already pre ordered my 2025 diary (Take A Note A5 Planner) which uses Tomoe River Paper like the hobonichis but is much cheaper. I prefer the layout too.

2025 diary already bought and in action as I already have commitments booked in.
I get work bookings several months in advance see need at least 6 months ahead at any time.

MikazaMikaza · 24/09/2024 08:26

@AceOfCups it's absolutely gorgeous, the inside is fantastic. The binding is not what I was hoping for and it seems too much of a compromise for £35. So beautiful though...

I've been thinking about mine for the last few weeks because I think I'm going to design my own, exactly how I want it.

I saw this site recommended on another thread (perhaps it was you who shared it). It looks fab, I haven't ordered yet but had fun browsing the different options to come up with a format that ticks all the right boxed for me. And I love that you can save important birthdays etc so they can be pre-printed every year!

I've used So Typical Me for the last few years and I love them. Wouldn't use anything else. Totally personalizable (is that a word?) - cover, layout, extra pages, page edging, spiral bound, the lot. Not too expensive either for what they are. Around £25 if I remember rightly.

Didimum · 24/09/2024 08:44

I use Filofax with the refills. They have so much planning layouts available. I have a lovely leather one which was spendy, but the refills are cheap.

MikazaMikaza · 24/09/2024 09:01

@Didimum I have a beautiful leather Filofax but it just doesn't do it for me. I think part of it is the thick spiral which makes it difficult to write on the left side.

The so typical me that I tried to link to! I don’t think I’ve recommended it before (Although could be mistaken) but it just makes it so easy to set up a diary how I like.

CortieTat · 24/09/2024 09:33

I like the Bullet Journal from Lechtturm. I keep appointments and things in my phone calendar anyway, so I like the free format.

TeaAndCakeFTW · 24/09/2024 11:54

Am I doing something wrong? So typical me looked great until I tried to set the layout and I can't see how to make it a day a page, its just giving me weekly layouts 😖

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 24/09/2024 16:40

I think it is just weekly layouts. My preference is one page of the week, facing page for lists and trackers, so perfect for me. Not sure if anything similar exists on page per day

Deb13b · 24/09/2024 18:44

Planner Girl here ! I've already got next years, I'm going to try the passport size notebook from Harriet Wright Designs. I usually use a hobonichi weeks. This year I've been in an a6 hobonichi and it just hasn't felt right. Over the years I've had leuchtturm1917 a5, b6 stalogy, a7 zequenz. Absolutely love tomoe river paper. Just realised how much of a geek I sound......

SocksAndTheCity · 24/09/2024 18:48

Mine is already bought and started too; I have a personalised A5 hardback diary from Papier every year. They have started doing spiral bound ones, but I like my bound one (and they look nice all lined up together on my bookshelf).

I look forward to diary choosing every year 😊

Papier would work but I want a passwords and notes section as well 😖

PoachesPeaches · 24/09/2024 23:57

Filofax lover here. Open to other options.

PoachesPeaches · 24/09/2024 23:58

Also there's a Facebook page for the love of filofax which makes it difficult to leave the cult 😂

Sourisblanche · 25/09/2024 00:21

Just about to buy my 2025 diary. Bit different to what has been mentioned so far but I like the Sarah Raven diaries. Lots of pretty garden photos, recipes and gardening tips and a moveable book mark.

mrsjg · 25/09/2024 07:21

I was going to order from Papier, but saw this and looked at So Typical Me. I like the idea that you can customise the So Typical one.
