I went to bed at 12.30am and am still wide awake with some period pain. I have an interview tomorrow afternoon via Teams and was hoping to be well-rested. Just made another chamomile tea to help. What about you? Why are you still up at this hour?

Hay. Theres another thread like this… Come on over :)

CRbear · 23/09/2024 02:58

Period pain is the worst! As is knowing you need to sleep and being unable to.

I am up rocking the baby. He’s 8 weeks old today. Think he has gas. He has us vaccinations in a few hours which im apprehension about but trying to look at it like “what a lucky baby to get protection from all these awful illnesses”.

I should try and put him down now - but I’ll be up to feed him in less than an hour - so do I bother?!

OhamIreally · 23/09/2024 02:59

Went to bed at 10. Got a really busy day tomorrow and like you was hoping to be well rested.

Woke up thinking it was morning and now can't get back to sleep.

I've been having trouble sleeping at night for a while now 😐 It's horrible. Especially the next day.

FlippertyFlopperty · 23/09/2024 03:34

I have terrible anxiety about work. My role and line management changed recently and I've recently put my foot down about something I've been doing for a while which doesn't really sit within my role. This 'something' has been so stressful lately. I've really struggled with all the changes and have often cried at work, which is most unlike me, and then again at home. It's exhausting.

Cheesetoastiees · 23/09/2024 03:53

Coz my 14 month old is a crap sleeper and only settles with me. I’ll be needing lots and lots of coffee tomorrow 😫🥴

Time40 · 23/09/2024 04:20

Because I can't sleep. I've given up trying, for the moment. I'll probably have another go in a while. It's going to be one of those exhausted days.

Time40 · 23/09/2024 04:23

... I've just been reading world population statistics - you know, like you do when you've got insomnia. I found out something incredible - Japan actually has a much bigger population than the UK's. I always thought Japan was relatively tiny. My mind is blown.

@Time40 UK is tiny. I always think it's smaller than everywhere 🌎

I think I have norovirus 🤮 laid in bed with my stomach dancing after a few visits to the loo…

Mumof1andacat · 23/09/2024 04:48

Lack of sleep keeps me awake. I suffer terrible insomnia and haven't had a full night's sleep in around 12 years. I average around 4-5 hours sleep a night. I'm desperate for more. It effects mood and motivation. The older I get the more it effects me.

Crystallizedring · 23/09/2024 04:55

I hurt my back and just can't sleep. Managed to drop off then moved in my sleep and that was it. Also DH is snoring!
DS has school so will probably stay up now. I'm a SAHM but because DS only does 90 minutes at school I won't be resting much.

HarrytheHobbit · 23/09/2024 04:57

I'm on nightshift until 7am

Woke up at 1:30 for a wee. DD woke up at 3:30 with a headache and finally threw up about 10 mins ago. My alarm is set for 5:20... URGH

I was supposed to be in the office today for work, DD not meant to go to school if she's been sick but she's done this a few times and is always right as rain once she's finally been sick ....

Boredmum24 · 23/09/2024 05:14

7 weeks post surgery for fractured humerus. I a hotel without usual pillows

NotSorry · 23/09/2024 05:22

Been awake since 3.30 as lots buzzing around my head. Tried making a list, but still awake

Mammma91 · 23/09/2024 05:34

I’m up making my youngest’s bottle, 5 months old and first feed is 6am, waiting for it to cool. Will be up officially at 6:30 with eldest to get ready for school. Good luck with your interview - period pain is awful I’ve had it this week too.

stopringingme · 23/09/2024 05:43

I've been up since 2.30am with DD, who came home from school on Friday with a cold, then at 4.45am, she threw up all over my bed 🤮 so that is her home for 48 hours at least !

Time40 · 23/09/2024 18:36

@JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods I wouldn't say the UK is exactly tiny - I was surprised by how un-tiny it is. The UK is the world's 21st most populous country out of 234 - bigger than France, Italy, South Africa, Spain, South Korea ... bigger than most of them, in fact. It's just that there are some really, really huge ones.
