Food poisoning? Possible TMI.

In your experience is it severe and constant? I ordered Indian food last night and woke up feeling really bloated and unwell. TMI alert but needed the loo urgently and there was a lot but that's not always unusual after an Indian! Had to go again but after that I felt fine, went out for a few hours, no issues at all.

Came home and foolishly ate some leftovers, not a lot. Then felt weird and needed the loo again. Felt better after. Ate my Sunday lunch around 5pm (greedy bitch I know) and all evening have been really unwell. Very sudden diarrhoea which I won't go into detail about but it's not pleasant and has happened 2-3 times in the space of the past few hours. I feel drained now and a bit worried in case it carries on through the night.

I feel in my gut (no pun intended) that it might be to do with the Indian food as something just didn't feel right about it. But if it were food poisoning would it not have started sooner and been continuous rather than me feeling fine for ling periods throughout the day? Same goes for a bug?

It seems to be made worse by eating more food, this evenings unpleasantness most likely triggered by a big Sunday lunch. But I still feel like it's something to do with the Indian food, maybe an intolerance. Either way I feel dreadful and have to work tomorrow. Diverticulitis runs in my family and I know my gran used to get awful flare ups like this now and again so that's in my mind too.

If you've been poorly just call in sick if you're not well enough to work. It's important to look after yourself ❤️
It's hard to know if it is a gastro bug or something to do with the Indian, but sounds like a bit of a dodgy belly after the food! Hard to know though without testing your stool (tmi!!) ... Best follow the 48h rule, stay home and get better x

If you're not being sick it doesn't sound like food poisoning. You might have picked up a random bug somewhere, or there are some parasites that cause awful diarrhea but no sickness.

Either way keep away from other people and increase hygiene - washing hands, not sharing towels, bleach solution in toilet flush etc.

Hope you feel better soon.

It definitely could be food poisoning, it can happen within hours or even days. It also doesn't have to cause vomiting. The fact you ate more of the Indian today may have "re-infected" you when your body might have got over the first bout.

If you're feeling unwell overnight then call in sick tomorrow, nothing worse than trying to travel to work while you have explosive diarrhoea

Ok so things are still very weird. I didn't have any more episodes overnight so I went to work this morning. I did wake up with a gnawing sensation in my stomach, not bowels but higher up like my stomach lining. It's been there all day on and off and pretty painful at times.

Didn't eat much at work as didn't want to risk being ill and was fine all day. By the time I got home although the gnawing pain was still there I thought I was probably safe to have an evening meal. About an hour after eating it I had the most horrific pains and awful, awful diarrhoea again. So it definitely seems like meals are triggering it.

I really don't think it's a bug. It wouldn't be so on and off if it was. I did take a fair bit of ibuprofen last week as I had a sore throat and now I'm panicking that it could be some sort of stomach ulcer!!!

I'm so confused. I don't understand why it would come and go like this. And when it comes it's so sudden and severe.
