Car adverts, WTAF is going on with them, why so weird?

Just what the actual fuck?

I don't watch a lot of TV with ads but recently there have been a few things I wanted to see on ITV catch up, and the car ads are so weird. I keep seeing one for some very standard looking SUV called Polestar where they're making out it's some space age vehicle that was confusing onlookers and I just don't get it.

Obviously I'm not the target customer by a long shot but still, surely these bizarre adverts can't possibly make anyone want to buy the cars Confused What is the point of them, what's the bit that is meant to make people want to spend £20k on the car?

20k?! You’d be lucky to get a brand new Vauxhall corsa for that these days!

The bottom of all these ads have a note saying “not UK specification” so fk knows what us plebs could end up with 🤣

Not the point of the thread, but £20k doesn’t get you much…certainly not the cars in adverts. It gets you a Vauxhall Corsa. And I’m throwing no shade on cheap cars. The reason I know it gets you a Corsa is caused that’s what I bought last year! 😂

I don't know what ads you mean @HedgePigWig
