Size of baby bump

My midwife told me I needed a fit to fly letter when I go on holiday next week. Another midwife called me and said I didn't need one until 28 weeks. I'll be flying out and back at 24 and 25 weeks.

When I asked her how the airline would know I wasn't 28 weeks she said "well by the size of your bump" as if it's really obvious.

YABU- a stranger can tell your exact gestation just by looking at you
YANBU - there's no way a stranger can tell a woman's exact gestation especially when it's the case of a couple of weeks

Ridiculous - with my first you could have not noticed at 24 weeks if I wore the right thing which was not possible with second! Don't think anyone could tell accurately. Do you have the form they give you for your employer as that confirms your due date? Would that help?

I measured 7weeks bigger than I was. I flew at 23/24 weeks and they asked how far along I was. On the way back they asked for proof of my due date - I showed pregnancy notes from the hospital.

Check the airline your flying withs policy.

It's ridiculous isn't it! This is my second pregnancy and I'm much bigger than the first time. I'm going to take my MatB1 but that's literally all she had to say "if you're worried take proof of gestation like MatB1".

I'm baffled by the ignorance

I never really had a bump with any of mine, they were all tucked up under my rib cage, especially the first.

With number 3, many hadn't realised I was pregnant.

All 7lb'ers.

So yeah, daft to say that.

Pleased I'm not just being sensitive 😂
