To ask what ID I need to register baby?

I am due in the next week and my eldest daughter has asked for my birth certificate to apply for her first passport.
She's already filled out the application online and just needs to send the supporting documents.

I don't have a passport so she needs my birth certificate and is in quite a rush for the passport.

Will I need my birth certificate to register a new baby or will they accept a driving license?

You can use your driving licence - though the birth certificate may well be back sooner than you need it anyway!

I can’t honestly remember showing ID, but it definitely wasn’t a birth certificate (which isn’t ID anyway, it’s proof of place of birth).
