Thank you cards a year on from the event?

Would it be silly, rude, or ok? I tried making thank-yous last year and never managed to finish them, and have felt bad all year about it; but it’s coming up on the anniversary and I wondered about sending them now? Would it be okay? I could apologise for the long delay/not sending them at the appropriate time as well as thanking people…
(wedding thank yous, btw)

YANBU= yes, do this
YABU= no, it’s too late, forget it and move on

I'd do it, I think that's a lovely idea and it's normal for wedding thank yous to go out quite late anyway.

bergamotorange · 18/09/2024 06:26

You could say 'on the anniversary I wanted to thank people'. What harm can it do?

Zoraflora · 18/09/2024 06:26

Absolutely fine, I think people will appreciate the gesture, I know I always do.

WishOnSpaceHardware · 18/09/2024 06:33

For wedding thank yous I think it will still be appreciated

AxolotlEars · 18/09/2024 07:16

I'd go for it. I really appreciate a 'thank you'

BiscottiToffee · 18/09/2024 07:17

Definitely. I made my own cards and on the whole very much appreciated.

Zanatdy · 18/09/2024 07:18

Why not if it’s playing on your mind

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 18/09/2024 07:19

Never too late to be polite.

BridgetJonesBigPants · 18/09/2024 07:38

For a wedding I think it's fine. Better late than never. I'd think it was quite sweet and funny and could totally relate to the disorganisation of not sending them and then the guilt.

Skyrainlight · 18/09/2024 10:22

Definitely do it. I remember who didn't send thank you cards years later and I barely remember who sent late thank you cards. I think one of my friends was also about a year late but I still appreciated it when it arrived.

Thanks all 😊
