Pregnant and mice ...

Im due a c section in a week as jn 38 weeks pregnant. A few months me and DH noticed found we had a rat/mouse problem and put down traps etc in our kitchen.
I was deep cleaning back of a kitchen cupboard today and realised there were lots of mice and rat droppings at the back of the cupboard.

I did not touch anything then and did not vacuum or clean anything up. I just let my dh handle it. I shouldn't have but I googled That I could have been exposed to lcmv infection and hantavirus and caused issues in my pregnancy!
I'm just freaking out!
We have been preparing and eating food in this kitchen for months! Has anyone else been exposed whilst pregnant or done anything like this ! Thanks

We had mice during my first pregnancy, found the droppings in the cupboard and saw a dead one. I now have a 5 year old. I didn't realise it was a huge issue - people on farms/unsanitary conditions are probably a much higher risk I'd not worry too much

There are mice in our house. We live in an old terrace so it's to be expected. I didn't give it a second thought during pregnancy to be honest. It's surprising really, because I'm naturally a very anxious person!

Did anyone else touch or clean up the droppings at all? X

I had a mouse get tangled in my hair when I was pregnant with dd, darn thing had decided to explore the bed whilst Rapunzel here was a snoozing, dunno who was more shocked me or the mouse! , dd is now a strapping teen, and we still have mice and the occasional rat pops in now and again, and quickly gets removed. As for the Bloomin magpie who seems to merrily find its way into the kitchen when I'm cooking, honestly I've learned to live with nature, although I could do without the magpie poo, Ddog quite often takes care of that🤮.
Anyhoo we're all alive and kicking and seem to have okay immune systems so I really wouldn't worry, I do make a point of never googling anything disease related as I'm a great believer in ignorance is bliss!

Yes it happened to me too. I'm fine and both my kids are fine.

If you haven't got someone in yet to deal with the mice, do it asap. If your local council have pest control, get them booked in. Ours took one fee for 3 visits and when I asked them to come back a fourth time just to make sure and leave some extra poison (which is still there untouched almost 3yrs later) they didn't bill me for the extra visit.
