Kittens in Dog Park

Chatting to fellow dog owners and I was told about ‘how cute it was to have kittens in the dog park’ yesterday.

I wish I’d said something, but taking tiny kittens to a dog park is highly irresponsible isn’t it.

They sounded scared and not happy at dogs being around them. Too young to be vaccinated. A dog could easily have attacked them or they could have escaped.

They laughed about how one is ‘scarred for life’ as a ball nearly hit it. These aren’t responsible people at the best of times so I had to walk away.

But why? That's a weird thing to do.

Spenditlikebeckham · 17/09/2024 10:00

Bloody hell they aren't responsible owners at all.

Stellaris22 · 17/09/2024 10:02

I can only assume it’s because the owner wanted to show them off. These are people who do stupid things.

I had to explain repeatedly to these people why I wasn’t going to breed from my dog as ‘it’d be cute’ isn’t a good reason to do that.

Glad it’s not me, but I was just shocked at the story and that everyone else kept on about how cute and funny it was.

They sound like an idiot. What was going through their head to think taking kittens to a dog park was a good idea?

Neverstophoping · 17/09/2024 10:28

This is upsetting.
The number of people who think pets are toys is frightening.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 17/09/2024 10:29

How awful. Is it a park for trainee dog baiting?

alpacachino · 17/09/2024 10:31

Bonkers

Yes that's ridiculous- my dog would be terrified if there were kittens in the dog park 😂

(But seriously yes very irresponsible of the kitten owners, they were probably scared and could have been injured)
