I have always had long straight hair - no effort needed. Then I turned 40 and my hair went from sleek to coarse, thick and constantly unkempt. Lots of hairstyles later, I just can't find one that doesn't just end up with me on a ponytail.
It's thick - hangs like curtains and looks awful. Any shorter than shoulder length and it's a massive triangle.
Am I mad to think a perm might help give it some shape and body and keep it out of my eyes?
I don't have a good local hairdresser to ask.
