Lots of people have D&V atm, It so shit. Both DD’s have got it and I have also just vomited. let’s hope DW remains unscathed!

Got some advice for you guys, please listen to it!

Buy some ORS/dioralyte please! You get so so dehydrated when vomiting that you can quickly worsen. This helps keep your body properly absorbing the hydration so you don’t end up severely dehydrated.

i buy these ones Dioralyte or these ones ORS

if you don’t have access to those and are continually vomiting dissolve 1/2tsp salt and 2 tbsp sugar in 1l of water, then see a doctor as soon as.

don’t share towels, cutlery, cups etc. with anyone in your family.

wash vomited on stuff separately on a hot wash

other tips are BRAT- bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. (Plain pasta, rice, soup also good) and baby food pouches. Easy to digest and get some calories and nutrition in.

if you feel better don’t gorge on a pizza yet, eat slowly and in small bites and if you feel nauseous stop. Same with fluids.

don’t take medication to stop diarrhoea, it’ll make things worse.

if you haven’t kept anything down for 2+ days then see a doctor asap or call 111.

once you’ve finished with the bug get everything disinfected and clean, change bedding, clothes etc.

ok doctor hat off! good luck in the trenches everyone!

I think norovirus is so infectious that pretty much anyone in the same house is going to get it.

It's also the reason why if you do get it you must stay away from other people because one person can infect many others.

My top tip for vomiting is to make one of those steamfresh bags of mixed veg when you think you might be ready to try eating again - keep it in a bowl and slowly snack on it pea by green bean by carrot etc, sometimes over an hour or more. I swear by these more than the BRAT stuff which I feel sits heavy in my stomach. It just seems so gentle and and substantial while being light. Once I've kept the veg down I know I am ok to try something else.

My top tip is to get cheap bucket type bins for every room to double as sick buckets.

It's crap but part of life

Puppy/incontinence pads for kids rooms (on the floor under the bedsheets - I know it's not environmentally friendly but with a house full of vomiting it saves on the towels and cleaning
