To get a b&q sofa

Anybody had a b&q sofa? They seem reasonably priced online. DH is apprehensive, as I don't think they have them on the shop floor.

I have looked in IKEA, and not impressed with them anymore. They were so much better in the past. Costco look decent enough for the money but their colours, and styles are limited. I don't want to spend too much, want a sort of L shape that is open at the end, and sits about 5ish people.

What do the reviews say? Have you sat on them and are they good quality and comfortable? Many sofas have a lifetime guarantee on the structure, is there any guarantee?

That's the thing, there aren't any! I think it may be a relatively new thing. As far as I'm aware they're not on the shop floor.

It is more likely a Marketpkace item. B&Q stores don’t sell sofas
have a look at the product page and see who it is sold and shipped by. If it doesn’t say ‘sold and shipped by B&Q’ then it’s not one of their products
The site hosts other sellers, a bit like Amazon so they can offer a wider range of products.

(I work for the company)

I think it depends on how comfortable and long lasting you want them to be, as you do get what you pay for with sofas in my opinion. The B&Q ones are relatively cheap, and do look it

With things like sofas I’d never buy one that I couldn’t see in person and try out first - and definitely not if there are no reviews of the product. B&Q Marketplace is very hit and miss, it’s essentially a drop shipping platform rather than actual products they stock and sell themselves, and as previous poster has said, quality varies massively.

I would get a sofa you can see and sit on and try out before buying. I've taken a look at the sofas and they look cheap and like they won't last very long.

What's your budget?

I wouldnt go to Been and Queued for anything other than a tin of paint. Plenty of other online sofa retailers.

jamtarty · 15/09/2024 14:59

I would never buy a sofa I hadn’t sat on. They vary so much in how comfortable they are.

Ponoka7 · 15/09/2024 15:03

Look up the actual seller online and look at the reviews. I'm a believer in you get what you pay for.

Thank you all, any recommendations for decent sofas? I used to pay 2000 plus, i had a dfs £2400 sofa that lasted 10 years and was worth every penny, so supportive and comfortable. Then a costco one which was sectional, and nice but quite narrow seats.

I currently have a NABRU one which I haven't had for long. It is awful, and it cost £1,500! I have well and truly wasted money. It hurts when you catch your legs on it. Unfortunately it has been over the return period, so I well and truly f*ed up with that.

I'm now looking at around £1000, standard cushioned backs, L shaped, removable end puffet/ottoman is fine also. I like the ones you can rejig yourself & take bits off, sectional. I also need it tomsot about 5ish people. It's a long shot I know.

Ive heard Sofa King is good but having googled there seems to be a couple of firms with that name.

RenovationDream · 02/10/2024 08:09

I bought 3+2 sofas from Oak Furniture Superstore online. Decent prices, good reviews & they post fabric samples if you call customer service. It’s a gamble when you can’t sit on them, but I’m very happy with mine

Have a look at Debenhams online.
