Interested to hear your thoughts on this and happy to be told if I'm being unreasonable.
I ordered a KFC last night for DS and I through just eat. It was the first time in probably around a year as we rarely have takeaways but fancied a treat. I spent just under £30.
Anyway, turns out the entire order was wrong and half the items were missing. I ordered a tower box meal thing and it was the wrong meal (some kind of spicy burger and I don't like spice) with a different drink and side. DS's meal was also wrong and all the sides were missing. I left mine but DS ate his (would have only gone in the bin otherwise as the restaurant wouldn't have taken it back)
The delivery driver had already left by the time I'd checked the food, although I don't think it was his fault and he probably wouldn't have done anything anyway. I wasn't going to drive to the restaurant as it's 15 minutes away from where we live and I'd already paid a delivery fee and wasn't happy to spend anymore.
I complained to just eat and asked for a refund and they responded and said they will only refund me for the missing items as I received the rest, although it was the wrong order and not what I asked/paid for. I would understand if we were sat in or going the drive through as it would have been easier to ask for a replacement but the delivery driver wasn't going to return the food and I highly the doubt the restaurant would have delivered a replacement either. I don't expect to have free food but given this wasn't our fault, it seems a bit unfair?
AIBU?
