To wonder why they ignored me

I recently finished a Level 2 TA course and became quite close with a lot of others on the course at the same time and we all supported each other. We all message in the WhatsApp group and keep in contact. Everyone was saying where they’re at with things. For example, someone said they were doing a placement. One said that they’re gone on to do level 3. Another said they were doing some volunteering in a school etc. Everyone was replying back well done to everyone and saying they were all doing well and congratulations that things are moving forward. I thought I’d update that I’ve actually found employment in a school and that it had been my first day. Not one person said congratulation or replied. I wasn’t trying to brag or anything. I was just ignored basically. Before I mentioned I’d got a job in this role, everyone replied back to me and were friendly.

Well done OP! It's great that you've started a new job.

Do you think the others might be a little jealous? If so, shame on them for not being able to hide it and say some thing pleasant to you.

Could it simply be a timing issue? I’m in a few WhatsApp groups and tend to reply if I’m available when comments are happening. If someone replies when I’m in work/asleep, I tend to miss it and the chat can randomly die on someone’s comment. Not for any personal reasons but just because people are no longer online and then forget to check back.

I wouldn’t look too deeply into it. Sometimes I’ll post something in a WhatsApp group and get an immediate response, sometimes I’ll post and get absolutely nothing back. It’s just timing. It’s a shame you didn’t get any responses but I wouldn’t take it personally- it’s more than likely people have read it, meant to respond and forgot. But, congratulations from me - it’s a great achievement. Best of luck in the new job!

They could be jealous, all they needed to do was to be kind and congratulate you........in fact, I think you have done amazing so congratulations from me.✨⭐🌟💫

Kindness is a lesson they need to learn, try not to let their ignorance get you down but look forward to the future.
