Parents: Beware of TikTok!

Sorry to post in AIBU - for traffic and awareness. TikTok is not safe for your kids.

I’d like to start that I am not a troll, I know it’s 3:30am but I’m off work and have insomnia 😓

Was scrolling on TikTok and a video came on my FYP (for you page) of a screenshot of a porn website address and sounds of moaning, and gasping by a male and female. Female sounded in pain/crying. Only posted 10 mins ago. Quite disturbing.

Video and account was reported immediately. Awaiting for TikTok to review it. Although I’m assuming it’s not an actual human that looks at this, it’s just an automatic online/robot review.

So parents please be careful and aware if you have young children that have TikTok. The internet is full of sickos.

Young children shouldn't be on TT in the first place but you tend to find the videos on your FYP are based on your algorithms.

I've never had anything disturbing or pornogeaphic on mine.

Tik tok isn't any worse than any other SM platform

13yo’s are allowed accounts, which IMO is young. Other people’s opinions will differ though I assume.

I know all about algorithms and how it works, so I was shocked that this video came up. I’ve had my account years and never experienced this. If it can for me I’m sure it will for others.
