To Change to Eyelet Curtains

Hello all!

In our house we have curtain poles with rings set up to accommodate pencil pleat curtains with a standard drop of 228 cm / 90 inches.

We are thinking of changing to eyelet curtains of the same length, but cannot work out if they will be the right length on the same pole or will be 2/3” too short without the ring. I don’t want to move the pole or have to get made to measure curtains for the sake of a couple of inches.

Any help much appreciated!

It's worth bearing the width in mind as well as the length.

I was told in the shop when I was buying the eyelet tape that you needed more width than for normal tape but didn't really take it in and thought it would be fine. It wasn't. I wasted eyelet tape, money and time but I do now have normal taped curtains that close. In my defence, I had a lot going on at the time Blush

I love eyelet curtains, but they aren't any good for blackout as the light comes through the holes in the top! I agree with PP that they will likely be about an inch shorter, although I've always found that curtains to the floor attract more dust and fluff and are harder to clean round than curtains that fall a little short. The owners of curtains that comply to the current trend of 'puddling' fabric must not have dogs...
