Contacts in my phone that I didnt put there

Feeling a bit freaked out...my phone needs replacing and the storage is running low so I was just deleting some apps and photos. My DS just asked how many contacts I have and there are tons! Was flicking through and deleting some and I saw some I don't recognise,.Fair enough..but wierd..some were named things like Bob 12 chairs, or Phil storage....my ex works in storage and furniture sales. I defo haven't saved or called these numbers so how are they in my contacts? There were about 10 contacts like this and I'm feeling freaked out. Has the ex got.into my phone somehow?

Have you at any time had or do you still (perhaps unwittingly) have a shared account or online identity that he may also be synching to? I think this may occur in the background without giving explicit permissions each time).

This happened to me. My phone randomly displayed hundreds of contacts from Nigeria. They never called me, we're just there. I deleted them one by one.

Most likely your phone is syncing with your ex phone or connected to his email some how. Easily done if he’s ever used your phone and probably not intentional.

Yes it will have synched somehow with his Google account at some point. It can happen a bit randomly or you can be trying to do one simple thing and you have to synch for that to happen, but you don't realise the full extent of it.

Yes- my daughter apple account was linked to my phone and I had her co facts and some photos.

I don’t think it will be anything he’s done on purpose or anything sinister, just a synced account (Apple, Google, Samsung or whatever). It can be a pain to untangle them though.

Have you set up a Family/Group Account with your DH? Because if you do, his contacts could show up on your mobile. That what seems to have happened to me because I have loads of contacts like "Rob the Chippie"

Thanks all, no family or group accounts and our emails are different companies, ie hotmail/work.
He hasn't ever used my phone as far as I know, we weren't in a relationship like that really...we've been apart 2.5 years.
Very strange but must be a glitch I guess....
