To ask how on earth I move my solicitors along?

Used the solicitors reccomended from my Estate Agent for a very simply move. I've sold my little house to my sister using them and I'm moving into a vacant 50's reno that I'm itching to get my hands on. No chain. DH and I have done everything we need to do and the solicitors are just ignoring us. What do I do now? Even my EA can't get an update from them. I have 'popped in' to their office as its on a local High Street and said as I was passing please could I have an update. Funnily enough when I was there in person they gave me one that we were more or less ready to move. Their reviews on Google are shit and I'm so fed up after waiting so long. Has anyone else faced this? What do you do? Whenever they wanted money to move things along at the start they managed to call me. Whenever I call their office and ask for a message passed along I get ignored. I can't keep ringing and emailing daily to get radio silence surely. Their complaints procedure looks rubbish. Heeeeelp

Yes should have looked at these to begin with. I've only done this process once before and had no idea how shocking the service can be for what seemed so simple.

Sadly I have no idea, I have sex six emails in the past week (always really polite) to request an update and apologising for chasing - absolute silence. Eventually DH got one response when we popped in together that they were just working through a final enquiry on the management pack as my house I'm selling is a new build. This was 3 weeks ago and nothing since. I just want an answer really, it's making things really tricky for planning life and I don't get it or why they won't just communicate. Would complaining get me anywhere?

Had a similar experience selling my mums property. We had comlleted probate before puttingnit up for sale - house was empty, buyer had nothing to sell so no chain, no complicating factors. Honestly got so fed up with my emails being ignored and phone calls not being returned that I emailed the senior partner and asked who I should be dealing with as it appeared 'my' solicitor must be on extended leave, off sick or had left. Had a response within 2 hours from another solicitor, a full update by the end of the day and a completion date was confirmed a couple of days later. Never received an apology for the weeks of being ignored though and my feedback afterwards reflected that.

Not the house sale which went through OK but not until they had extracted Probate which took nearly 2 years!!!!??. Eventually my dh asked the solicitor if someone else could take over and then things started to move. Senior partner took it on and probate was finally granted so house sale could proceed. It was delayed by months costing us extra in house insurance and rates. Total disgrace.

Visit them every day
They charge loads and do nothing. I did my own stuff as an executor
was a bit of a pain but not difficult
