Rubbish bins Uk

Every week our bins are collected in the morning after I go to work - alternating general rubbish and recycling. When I come home from work I collect my bin and every week, without fail, a neighbour (I don’t know who but I have a strong suspicion who it is) puts rubbish in my newly emptied bin at some point during the day and it’s driving me mad! One week there was a stinking dirty nappy just plonked in there, no nappy bag, it was absolutely honking on a hot day 😩. My question is, how do I catch who it is? There’s no obvious place to install a camera as the bins are collected away from the house…

Get a gravity lock, they won’t be able to put stuff in then.

How awful. Yes put a lock on. Disgusting people!

Thanks for the replies but If I put a lock on it how would the bin guys get into the bin and put a lock back on again?

Maybe Google the lock recommended and it will show you?

The lock opens itself when tipped up side down.

Ah yes, another version of 'bin wars', however not quite worthy of the UK mantle in your title as there are literally thousands of variations of 'bin' collections throughout the UK.

In every locale there are 'bin rules' and in nearly every locale there are bin rule breakers unless it's a very tight 'hood' with any infringers shamed into compliance.

I'm on a very steep hill upon which no bin can stand and when the rubbish collectors come every 2 weeks to collect the mounds of black bags it's the gulls that create the greatest mess and I'd be happy to give each of them a Penalty Notice for every infrigement.

Perhaps you should take them to work with you as a less annoying and more independent pet.
additionally if you walk to work you could even handily empty it into other bins as you pass.
