For this to give me the ick

Came home from a girly day/eve at the weekend and husband and I are about to have sex, we're kissing etc. and then he is asking me if any of my friends were talking about their sex lives, I say no not really and he was kind probing for details. Really turned me off? Like he wanted to know the details of other peoples sex as foreplay?

YANBU. Was he asking after anyone in particular?

probster · 03/09/2024 11:35

your thread generally just “gives me the ick” if i’m honest

TinkerTiger · 03/09/2024 11:35

Utterly bizarre Confused

How did the conversation go?

kluesme · 03/09/2024 11:36

Wasn't about anyone specific no, I was a bit drunk so my recollection is a bit hazy!

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/09/2024 11:37

Was he looking for tips 😆

kluesme · 03/09/2024 11:38

Why would anyone make this up? Mumsnet can confirm
I'm a long term poster just name changed as this is an intimate thing

It's just a phrase not sure why you're so offended

Where is the voting?

It's up to you what gives you the ick, the point of an ick is that it's often benign or unreasonable.
If he was also drunk, I'd personally find it amusing. Maybe he has a kink or maybe he fancies one of your girlfriends and hoping for some raunchy stories.
The cliche sex stories is that Mrs on a girls trip and she ends up having sex with someone else or doing something sexually outrageous, being naughty etc. It's a fantasy for some men.
Ask him what it was about for him and tell him if you'd rather he never spoke like this to you.

kluesme · 03/09/2024 12:06

He wasn't drunk no.

Ignore them, they think they own the language.

Demonhunter · 03/09/2024 12:13

Could he have been looking for new ideas?

"Mabel said her and Barnabus are fond of teabagging"

"Ooooh shall we try that!"

Haha maybe! We used to be quite adventurous before we had kids so maybe you're onto something there

That would gross me out.

Aquamarine1029 · 03/09/2024 12:28

I would not be impressed if my partner was asking me for details about my friends' sex lives under any circumstances. During sex? Fuck that. I'd be off.

kluesme · 03/09/2024 18:30

Ok not just me then

RSavernake · 03/09/2024 22:03

I would find it off-putting too.
