Unreasonable noise at 11.30pm

My neighbour has a teenager who has autism and is non verbal. I’ve never met the neighbour. The son spends parts of the day on a trampoline in the garden and vocally stims. The noise is loud and due to the positioning of our houses echos so I can hear it in the front or back of my house.

Usually this stops by late afternoon however for the last few nights it’s continued late into the evening, disturbing sleep. Would it be unreasonable to post a note asking for the trampolining to stop earlier?

how long have you been neighbours?

Ticobell · 03/09/2024 11:41

I don’t know Probster. I’ve lived here for 18m, having moved in with my partner who has lived here 12 years. This summer is the first time I’ve heard it. The neighbours live behind us a few houses up so I only ever see glimpses of them in the garden

ok so this is a very very recent development in many years

id leave it a couple of nights and then perhaps write a very civil note.

oh and it should be from your partner given a he’s been there 12 years

Thanks Probster, I’ll do as you suggest. They won’t know my partner from Adam as the fronts of our houses are far apart. We co-own the house now.
